Leonardo Cappellini is the creative heart of Leowood Art. His passion for wood working, nature and sustainability all come together in each of his wood vases and wood sculptures. Leonardo works from his home and workshop in the hills above Florence. He finds inspiration and solace in the woods that surround him. Leonardo continually evolves as an artisan, driven by his desire to explore all that he and his art can be. He has shown his work throughout Italy, has collaborated with an artisan from Japan, growing his craft beyond his Italian heritage. There are no pretenses with Leonardo, he does what he loves because his passion is strong that he must do it. Each creation is an extension of his passion, his dreams and his desire to give new life to trees that are ready for a new beginning.

The Wood Vase- Natural Twists was inspired by the collaboration with Japanese designer Yusuke Taguchi. The Wood Vase is a combination of Italian and Japanese design. It is a unique twist of different cultures coming together to create an intricate fig wood sculpture. The wood vase is a beautiful sculpture for any art collection.

The Wood Vase- Natural Twists was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the deep grooves, intricate twists all work with the natural grain of the fig wood. The wood sculpture is carved from a beautiful piece of fig wood found in the hills above Florence. With a mastery of skill the Wood Vase stuns with the layers of expertly carved wood. Leonardo worked closely with designer Yusuke to create the beautiful Ibuki wood vase series.

The Inspiration
