Meeting these artisans can be life changing. Their passion, and dedication can change us, influence us and make us think differently. Buying artisanally made products is more satisfying because there is a connection or an energy to the products. Somehow knowing that the person who made the product, who designed it also packaged it and sent to us. They are sharing a part of themselves, a vision, an idea, a design and a creation.
The Italian culture was built on service and connection and it still exists today. When we buy pastries they are carefully wrapped for us to take home, when we shop for produce they recommend which type of vegetable or fruit is best for the dish we are making. They know what wine to have with what type of food, they know our size when we walk into their clothing store, or what glasses suit us. They pay attention to the details because they know they are important.
